My life mission statement

Another item that I thought was interesting from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective people 3 day course I took a few months back was the idea of a life mission statement. All of the 7 Habits ideas are all cheesy unless you really take them seriously, and take them to heart. This could also be a lot of fluff. But I think it is what you make of it.

The idea here is self explanatory… what is your life's mission? This was part of Habit 2 - begin with the end in mind.

I like this idea because you are deciding who you want to become. You are taking some initiative and choosing how your life is going to be. And I believe that's a good thing. That instead of having your life just occur, you decide what you will do, who you will be, and how you will react to things.

This mission statement is supposed to be something you could read each morning or throughout your day to remind yourself of your life goals. Not really life accomplishments… but daily life goals.

This is going to be my first draft and will probably change over the course of time.
  • Start each day with enthusiasm - ready to learn and create.
  • Love my family as hard as I can - consider what I say to them and how I say it.
  • Work hard, work smart, and work towards the end goal - stay focused.
  • Don't get caught up on little things - always keep the big picture in mind.
  • Keep dreaming - think of big ideas and how to make them practical.
