I like to think of myself as open-minded… but sometimes I wonder if I really am. I think it’s extremely hard to be really open-minded. Once you have your mind made up on a topic… how likely are you to change it? Think about it, how open is your mind to other peoples ideas and suggestions after your mind is made up?
Changing your mind is a hard. It’s even harder for someone else to persuade you to change it.
A lot of times my wife will come up with an idea that I will shoot down… only to come up with the exact same idea myself, later on. She has called me out on this several times. So, I’m questioning why I don’t consider her idea the first time. Why don’t I think it’s a good idea when she says it the first time?
So how often do you change your mind? Maybe I should be changing my mind more often? Maybe I shouldn’t be afraid to change my mind – or at least I should consider the ideas that are thrown my way a little more before shooting them down… I’m working to become more open-minded.
