In my last post I asked "are we lucky?" Sometimes it doesn't seem like it. One of my favorite lyrics recently is from the Hollywood Undead song, Young:
We are young, we have heart
Born in this world as it all falls apart
With all that's happening in the world today, it does seem as though we were born into this world as it all falls apart. Maybe we're not lucky.

If you think that, you're sadly mistaken. Just by being here and reading this - you've already won, what Warren Buffet calls, the ovarian lottery. From my perspective you've won it twice. The first time you won was when you were the sperm that reached egg… there were a million chances for you not to make it. The second time you won was when you were born in this country and not Somalia.

So are we lucky? We've already won 2 lotteries. That makes us extremely lucky… but not necessarly smart. How many lottery winners are broke within 5 years? How many of us will throw away the 2 lotteries we've already won and do nothing with our lives?

Use those 2 winnings to your advantage… invest it and spend it conservatively and on things that really matter.
