Lately I've been striving to take in less trash. What I mean is - watching less tv, wasting less time doing pointless internet browsing, even listening to the radio less - because listening to the same Lady GaGa song over and over is mind-numbing.
I've been attempting to do more "real life" things. Put together shelves for my girls' rooms, read books, help my wife with household chores, even just going outside or sweeping out the garage.
It's hard for me to do… but I think I'm getting better at it - although my wife may disagree on the household chores. Sometimes I have to remind myself to get off of the chair and just do something… anything. I think we all know that too much tv is bad for our brains but it's tough to break the routine of watching. And I'm tired too… it's easier to just sit down and watch some crappy tv show. But I'm trying my hardest not to.
My goal this week… no tv, except for maybe Ernie Chambers on Tuesday night (if I remember to turn it on).
